From window pope to vehicle producer
In 1978, the Swabian Eugen Seitz placed his stamp on the caravan branch for the first time, when he used his multi-function shades to not only make campers mosquito-free, but also provided comfortable darkness. The next idea was not far away: In 1982 the window specialists integrated multi-function blinds with polyurethane-frame into the caravan window.
A sensational success was the result: Several million pieces have proven themselves in many motor homes. Today, more than 70 % of all motor homes and caravans in Europe are equipped with Seitz windows, and have given the inventor the nickname "window pope".
In 1994 Eugen Seitz proved his right feeling again, when he introduced his legendary lift-tip-roof to the branch. Within the shortest time the product asserted itself, and gave the newly created type in the area of roof openings a memorable name. Since then, the caravans and motor homes have been rolling along, flooded with light and air.
In 2000 Eugen Seitz used the turn of the century to face new challenges. The window department was sold to Dometic, so that time and space for new ideas was created.
In 2005, the product Tikro® was born, which was introduced by the press as well as the caravaners as the first motor home truly also useable in everyday life. The step from supplier to the producer page was taken.
Followed by success
A new beginning with success: Already during the first year, the Tikro® was successfully established on the market. In only 12 months, about 100 vehicles of the construction series Tikro® 1 were sold. As the company Seitz stands for quality and innovations since its founding, the Tikro® also received a makeover purely on the outside. With the next generation, the Tikro® 2, the motor home received a visually changed appearance. With shifted roof and a more aerodynamic outside design, the Tikro® now appears much more elegant. No wonder then, that the sales numbers increased by far, so that in the meantime, a small Tikro community came into being.
In 2008 Heiko Seitz, son of company founder Eugen Seitz took over the management of the company Seitz. Together with his sister Sonja Seitz and wife Heike Seitz ,the succession of the Swabian company is therefore secured, and new ideas and innovations will continue to convince the branch, and especially the customers in renowned quality.
